Tammy T. Phelps

Tammy T. Phelps represents District 3 in the Louisiana House of Representatives, covering areas of Shreveport. Since taking office in January 2020, she’s brought a background in business and education administration into her public service.

Background and Education

A lifelong resident of Shreveport, Tammy graduated from Captain Shreve High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University and later completed a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Leadership from Amberton University.

Professional Career

Before entering politics, Tammy worked as an education administrator. Her experience leading and managing programs in educational settings gave her a practical and people-focused approach that’s reflected in her legislative work.

Political Career

Tammy secured her seat in the state House through the 2019 election and began serving in January 2020. She was re-elected in 2023, running unopposed, which speaks to the confidence her community has in her leadership.
